Year: 1974-1977
For 1974 the entry-level car was badged simply ‘911’ and fitted with a 2.7-litre engine. New impact-absorbing bumpers were necessary for the 911 to conform to US regulations, but the base model was only sold in that country for one year. From 1976 all 911s were hot-dip coated and fitted, distinctive ‘elephant ear’ mirrors.
